The Desert Dream Tour is a 6-day journey designed for travelers who want a deeper Sahara experience without rushing. Starting in Fes and ending in Marrakech, you’ll cross the Middle Atlas, follow palm-filled valleys, explore dramatic gorges and kasbah routes, and enjoy extra time in Merzouga (Erg Chebbi dunes)—including a desert camp night, sunrise/sunset on the dunes, and optional 4×4 exploration to nearby villages and desert landscapes.
Itinerary
Day 1: Fes → Ifrane → Cedar Forest → Midelt
- Scenic drive through the Middle Atlas
- Stops in Ifrane and the cedar forest (time permitting)
- Overnight in Midelt (or nearby)
Day 2: Midelt → Ziz Valley → Erfoud → Merzouga (Dunes)
- Drive via the panoramic Ziz Valley
- Arrive in Merzouga and check in to a hotel/riad near the dunes
- Free time for sunset on the dunes
Day 3: Merzouga Desert Discovery → Desert Camp
- Explore the Merzouga region (options: Khamlia Gnawa village, nomad area, seasonal lake, fossils/market stops, 4×4 dune tour)
- Late afternoon camel trek to the camp (or 4×4 transfer)
- Sunset, dinner, Berber music, overnight in desert camp
Day 4: Merzouga → Rissani → Todra Gorges → Dades Valley
- Sunrise in the dunes, breakfast
- Return to Merzouga by camel/4×4
- Stop in Rissani (time permitting)
- Walk in Todra Gorges
- Overnight in Dades Valley (dinner included)
Day 5: Dades → Valley of Roses → Skoura → Ouarzazate
- Drive through the Valley of Roses and Skoura oasis
- Route of a Thousand Kasbahs scenic stops
- Arrive in Ouarzazate (optional visits time permitting)
- Overnight in Ouarzazate (dinner included)
Day 6: Ouarzazate → Ait Ben Haddou → High Atlas → Marrakech
- Visit Ait Ben Haddou (UNESCO ksar)
- Cross the High Atlas via Tizi n’Tichka
- Drop-off in Marrakech
